Poetry Out Loud

Poetry Out Loud is a regional, state and national competition which focuses on students and their ability to interpret, memorize and deliver poetry to an audience.  OSD stages an annual competetion to determine who will represent the school at the regional level.  We have had many creative and amazing performers over the years.  Our students rise to the challenge in coming up with ways to deliver a poem in their native language, American Sign language (ASL).  We have had a student who qualified all the way to nationals!  This competition is open to all interested students and is held in the spring.

This year's competition dates are:

  • Local - February 2 at OSD, 1 PM
  • State - March 12 in Salem, times TBA
  • Nationals - April 29 in Washington D.C., times TBA
