The Residential Life is responsible for maintaining student residences which support the educational mission of Oregon School for the Deaf and are designed to provide a variety of learning opportunities that promote students' academic endeavors, and which encourage their growth and development. The Oregon School for the Deaf Residential Life recognizes that learning is not solely academic in nature. A large part of learning inevitably takes place outside the classroom. We are committed to supporting that learning through the residential experiences we provide.
At Oregon, we recognize that personal growth and development are largely the result of student interactions within an extraordinarily diverse environment of people and programs. The Residential Life Staff is committed to providing students with a safe, comfortable and well-maintained living space in an academically enriching environment.
Studies have shown that involvement outside of the classroom not only assists a student in being successful at an institution, but also give a student an edge on a future career, social interaction and knowledge while building community in the residence halls and throughout Oregon School for the Deaf.
